XSLT (eXtensible Stylesheet Language for Transformations) is a W3C-standard for the transformation of XML documents into new XML formats or HTML or simply text documents without any markup. It is a declarative programming language which does need any compilation and is parsed by so-called XSLT parsers which exist for nearly other programming languages.
